Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane, who was accused of rape this offseason, is not going to face charges. His accuser has told law enforcement she will no longer cooperate with the investigation, and cited stress on her family as a reason for not proceeding forward.
There was also evidence that could have contradicted the accuser’s story, which doesn’t mean she was lying or that Kane was innocent. However, an athlete being accused of a horrible crime and not facing prison time isn’t uncommon. In fact, there are many examples.
