Cleveland Browns Johnny Manziel Rumors: Mike Pettine Worried About Wrong QB Ahead Of Meeting With Russell Wilson, Seahawks [VIDEO]

Given all the headaches his own quarterback has given him, Mike Pettine shouldn't worry so much about how elite Russell Wilson is.

Prior to the start of the season, Johnny Manziel checked himself into rehab to attempt to battle alcoholism, which seemed to be a sign of the former Heisman Trophy winner turning over a new leaf. Then, reports came out that Johnny Football was partying during the Browns bye week in Week 11.

Johnny Manziel Smashing Tablet Into Head Is Sign Of Maturity

After being caught on video partying it up with champagne, Manziel tried to lie and say the video was old before Cleveland benched him for two weeks. Manziel, however, did return to action and lead the Browns over the 49ers last week, halting a seven-game skid.

Now, leading up to the Browns' game against the red-hot Seahawks, Mike Pettine is worrying about the wrong quarterback. The Cleveland coach did give Wilson his praise, but he balked at calling him elite.

Playing Johnny Football Is More Of A Punishment Than Benching Him

"Would you put him there with the guys that can transcend their supporting cast?" Pettine asked, via ESPN. "The (Tom) Bradys, whether it's Aaron Rodgers, (Drew) Brees, (Ben) Roethlisberger, the ones that you would consider the two, three, four elite guys? No. But he's certainly played himself into that next tier."

Pettine may not consider Wilson elite, however over the last three weeks, he looks like he is. In guiding Seattle to an 8-5 record after struggling earlier in the season, Wilson has completed 73.03 percent of his passes while throwing for 911 yards with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions in that span -- which includes a career-high five-touchdown effort on his 27th birthday against the Steelers in Week 12.

The Browns' head coach definitely got frustrated over all the backlash that he received stemming from his comments about Wilson:

Pettine may very well be forced to eat his words when these two teams clash Sunday at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
