The heat backstage on Lana was hotter than the blonde bombshell is herself, but she may be strategically working her way out of the WWE's doghouse.
Lana had what was described as "nuclear heat" on her backstage for a series of off-screen incidents that happened in the latter portion of 2015. Now, it seems the Diva may be kissing up to the WWE -- and the face of the Divas division Nikki Bella -- to get some of her momentum back.

Bella was revealed as the Diva of the Year at the Slammy Awards on Monday Night RAW this past week. The Diva did have an interesting 2015, where she reigned atop the division for 301 days as its champion -- a new record for longest title reign.
In typical WWE fashion, they played off of the Steve Harvey controversy at the Miss Universe pageant by having R-Truth announce Paige as the winner before reversing it. After the announcement that Bella was the Diva of the Year, Lana took to Twitter to congratulate her.

Lana's tweet could be taken at face value, or be seen as her making an attempt to turn the company's views on her around. Lana got herself into heat originally for publicly revealing that she and Rusev got engaged outside of the squared circle.
The announcement of the pending nuptials ruined the WWE's storylines, as at the time, Lana was feuding with Rusev and in a romantic on-screen relationship with Dolph Ziggler, while the "Bulgarian Brute" had proposed to Summer Rae in kayfabe. Once the news leaked, the WWE had to change the entire angle and reunite Lana and Rusev.
The "Ravishing Russian" then got into more trouble when she got into a Twitter argument with Paige, which eventually led to Lana calling her a "bully," a term that is quite a buzzword in the WWE.
Prior to her wrist injury, Lana was being groomed as the next big star in the Divas division, but she's been relegated back to her regular role as a valet upon her return.
If Lana is going to get back to potentially being on top of the division, it's best to be running with the face of the division, which could explain her tweet to Bella.
