Jermichael Finley Neck Injury [VIDEO]: Packers TE Carted Off Field, Spends Night In ICU, 'Couldn't Move'

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley is in the intensive care unit at a hospital Monday following a neck injury he sustained during the Packers 31-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns Sunday at Lambeau Field, but is expected to be fine.

According to ESPN, initial tests on Finley came back negative and more tests are scheduled for Monday afternoon while Finley has regained almost all movement after not being able to move following a hit on Sunday. Finley sustained the neck injury in the fourth quarter of the game, and teammate and backup tight end Andrew Quarless said he couldn't move when he was down on the ground and Quarless approached him.

"He couldn't move at the time," said Quarless via ESPN. "So I just told him, 'Just stay here, just lay here, don't move.'"

Finley was eventually placed on a gurney and carted off the field at Lambeau and taken to a local hospital. The Packers later said that he had regained movement in his extremities after losing feeling during the initial injury.

The game was delayed for six minutes while medical personnel tended to Finley, who was hit by Browns safety Tashaun Gipson in the head following a ten-yard reception.

"That look he had in his eyes, that was something that stuck with me," Quarless told ESPN. "It really hurt me just to see him like that. My brother was out there on the ground."

Gipson received an unsportsmanlike penalty on the play as the referees said he led with his helmet, but the safety defended the play after the game, saying that he led with his shoulder.

"[It was] all shoulder," Gipson said per ESPN. "The crown of my head did not go down whatsoever. It was a shoulder hit. I don't know the place where it hit him exactly. I just know I saw him break out of the middle. He was running a slant. I'm driving on the ball. There's a collision, and he's down. I really haven't watched the play, so I can't really tell you what happened. I was just going out there playing physical."

Finley left a Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals when he received a concussion on a hit to his head.

Sunday, Finley had five catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Finley has 25 receptions for 300 yards and three scores.
