Perhaps all the jokes and criticism of Russell Wilson and Ciara will stop. But probably not.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback announced on his Instagram account Friday afternoon that he and his pop singer girlfriend are officially engaged, The Big Lead reported.

Wilson posted a short video of the two, saying only, "She said yes!" The camera then moved over to Ciara who showed off a mountain of an engagement ring.
On his Instagram account, Wilson also said, "Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove @Ciara.
Russell Wilson Can't Think Of Anything Original To Say About Ciara
The two have been dating since April of 2015, but they became social media headline fodder in June when Wilson revealed that they had agreed to practice abstinence in their relationship.
They were bombarded with questions about their relationship celibacy since. Earlier this week, Khloe Kardashian wondered aloud whether their willingness to discuss their sex life --- or lack thereof --- was an attempt to promote their image.
Both Wilson and Ciara have spoken glowingly about each other during interviews and on social media, and their love has endured other bouts of adversity.
Rapper Future, with whom Ciara has a son, Future Zahir, has been critical of Ciara allowing her son to spend so much time with Wilson.
Seahawks fans blamed Ciara for the team's struggles early during the season when they appeared to be in danger of missing the playoffs in 2016.
No wedding date has been mentioned yet, but the engaged couple seem destined to assume the power couple mantle from Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen.
