Jen Selter Boyfriend: NHL Star Makes Play For Gorgeous Fitness Sensation On Twitter [PHOTOS, VIDEOS]

The Sabres don't do a lot of scoring on the ice, but one forward on the team set his sights high off of it.

Buffalo winger Evander Kane recently made a play to try and court gorgeous fitness sensation Jen Selter. And of course, in this day and age, he used social media to do it.

When a fan tweeted about wanting a body like Selter's and a boyfriend like Kane, the former Jets and current Sabres player couldn't help but respond.

He then posted a since-deleted tweet directed at Selter, imploring her to hit him up in the DMs, which was screen-grabbed by BSO. It's hard to blame Kane for giving it a go, even if he was just using a fan's comment as a way to get to her.

On the ice, the Sabres rank 27th in the NHL with 171 goals for, so he needs to try and score somewhere. Kane is on the ice for goals-against more often than not, as evidence by his minus-14 rating through 62 games this season. The forward has 19 goals, 15 assists and 34 points on the campaign.

It's been a forgettable season for Buffalo overall, though some of its young studs are starting to develop and it should be only a matter of time before Jack Eichel and co. lift the club out of the doldrums. The Sabres are on their way to a fifth straight season without the playoffs as they currently sit with a 29-34-10 record (68 points), good enough for just 14th in the Eastern Conference.

That's why even though they have a game against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, it's understandable that Kane's focus may be elsewhere.
