O.J. Simpson's Foreclosed House Sold: How Much Did 'Juice' $500K Florida Home Sell For In Auction? [VIDEO]

With O.J. Simpson currently locked up in a jail cell in Nevada as he serves a 33-year sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping, his Florida home that he lived in for over a decade was put up for auction Wednesday with a current appraisal value of $500,000. The Business Journal reports that the home sold for $650,000 in the auction.

Simpson, 66, stopped making payments on the home in 2010 after living there for a decade reports The Washington Times, which also noted the value of the luxurious house as it hit the auction block. According to Daily Business Review, the buyer was TK Miami LLC, which is managed by Thomas Kennedy of Miami Beach.

The newspaper reports that fees, interest and court costs have driven Simpson's total bill to the bank to a total of $890,000 as per a judge's ruling in August. The report goes on to say that Simpson also owed back taxes for the last four years. Simpson blamed the foreclosure of his house on his oldest daughter, who the Post reports is responsible for his mortgage and monthly NFL pension of $25,000 while he is imprisoned.

Simpson, an ex-football great, purchased the home, which The Washington Post states is a 4,334-square-foot house back in the year 2000 for $575,000 but lost a lot of his money and ability to pay for the house after he was ruled financially liable for the 1994 deaths of ex-wife Nicole Brown and family friend Ronald Goldman.

Simpson was acquitted in the infamous murder trial of Brown and Goldman in 1994, but was ordered to pay $33.5 million in a wrongful death lawsuit that was brought upon him by Goldman's family, leading to Simpson being unable to make payments on the house.

The Washington Post reports that the money from Simpson's auctioned home will go towards paying the settlement amount.

Simpson is a former six-time Pro Bowl running back who played in the league for 11 years and appeared in 135 NFL games while amounting 11,236 yards and 61 touchdowns, but he's perhaps defined more by his legal troubles outside of the game.
