With just three nights until WWE Payback, the WWE filmed the final edition of "SmackDown" on Tuesday in New Hampshire, which is set to air this Thursday.
In the main event, it was champion vs. champion as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns battled reigning Intercontinental Champion The Miz in a non-title bout. The clash ended when Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Reigns, while AJ Styles and The Usos also made appearances.
The show opened with Reigns doing an in-ring segment with The Miz and Maryse, The Intercontinental Champion tried to attack the leader of the Roman Empire, but he dodged him and threw him out of the ring.
In a major turn of events, The League of Nations appeared to break up. During a six-man tag team match pitting the stable against Kalisto, Sami Zayn and Cesaro, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio walked out on Sheamus following a countout loss.
In other action, Apollo Crews defeated Stardust, Baron Corbin squashed Damien Sandow and Enzo Amore and Big Cass overcame The Social Outcasts in tag team action. WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day conducted commentary during the tag contest, while The Vaudevillians watched from the top of the stage.
In an in-ring segment, Dean Ambrose hosted WWE Women's Champion Charlotte, flanked by Ric Flair, and Natalya on the Ambrose Asylum.
This episode continued the build for Payback which emanates live this Sunday from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
