One of Lamar Odom's former teammates believes people should pump the brakes on blaming Kim Kardashian for his problems.
The two-time NBA champion has struggled with the demons of addiction through the years and it nearly cost him his life.
Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel in October. He has since made a miraculous recovery, while many people have pointed fingers at the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" show for leading to his downfall.
Odom's former teammate, Devean George, said people need to lay off the Kardashian show and realize what caused the former NBA star's problems. George recently reconnected with Odom at Kobe Bryant's last game, calling it "God's miracle" and revealing they reflected on old times.
When it comes to people blaming the reality show, George wasn't buying it.
"Who says that's what made him miserable in the first place?" George told TMZ regarding the show. "He's had a rough childhood. He's had death in his family as a youngster."
George expanded on why he didn't think the issues stemmed from the E! Network program.
"He might have had a problem prior to the show," George said. "So, we can't blame the show on that being the issue. Who knows what it is? Maybe it [was] a piece of the problem, but he had a tough time coming up, man, tough time."
George may not blame the show, but sources close to Odom recently revealed that he places some blame on Kardashian and the reality show for the situation he found himself in.
Despite whatever drama they've been through, Odom and Kardashian have remained close to one another and the reality star even halted their divorce to support him emotionally and financially after his near-death experience.
Odom may be falling back on tough times as he was seen at a bar just hours before attending church with the Kardashian clan on Easter and has been spotted drinking on numerous occasions.
Kardashian has appeared hot and cold with her estranged husband as one day she's having fun with him on Snapchat then the next she's posting cryptic quotes about letting go on Instagram. She also evicted Odom's father, Joe, from his home.
One thing seems certain, as long as Odom is in Kardashian's life, he'll be featured on the show.
