Jurgen Klopp looks for Dortmund to defeat Arsenal once again today in Germany after a late goal by Robert Lewandowski gave Dortmund a 2-1 victory over Arsenal last time around. The goal warmed Lewandowski up for an eventual hat trick against Stuttgart in a dominating 6-1 victory for Dortmund in their following European challenge.
Dortmund enters in hopes of its eighth Champions League home victory in a row.
Arsenal is coming off of a 2-0 victory over Liverpool which continued its dominance thus far and the team is unbeaten in 14 away matches since March.
Klopp is hopeful that his team, last season's Champions League runners-up, will put forth a strong effort as it looks for qualification out of Group F.
"We actually believe that it is an advantage to play at home and if we put all our quality on the pitch, we are very hard to play against. We are also very well prepared," Klopp said via ESPN. "Even if we had won the last 70 games at home, it wouldn't make any difference. It would be just a history, just statistics so therefore I wouldn't say the 14 games [unbeaten] away [for Arsenal] are an advantage."
Klopp talked about what lengths his team is going to prepare.
"We are going to do video analysis and show the players some things, but it is going to be a tough game," he told ESPN.
Dortmund is missing defender Mats Hummels due to a hamstring issue, and will turn to Sokratis Papastathopoulos to stand in.
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger will hope that his side answers in what is expected to be a tough match and that it will feed off of a huge win against Bayern.
"We take belief from Bayern. We play everywhere to win and that will not change of course, we will have a positive attitude in our approach to the game," Wenger said, according to ESPN. "We have played everywhere in Europe and always had the same approach and will be again like that."
Wenger added: "It is difficult to predict what will happen, that is what makes football great. Dortmund are positive, we are very positive. At least that will guarantee both teams will try to win the game."
It's a huge game for both sides as Dortmund and Arsenal clash today in Germany.
