Ayesha Curry's Twitter rant may have occured last month, but people are still talking about it.
The wife of Warriors point guard Steph Curry went on an epic Twitter rant after her husband's team lost Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Golden State, which won an NBA-record 73 games, went on to become the first team to ever blow a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals and lose the series as Cleveland marched on to its first title in franchise history.
Ayesha Curry received a lot of backlash over comments that the NBA was "rigged" during Game 6. Shaquille O'Neal's ex-wife, "Basketball Wives: LA" star Shaunie O'Neal, recently ripped into her for the rant.
"I personally didn't like her Tweet," O'Neal said on Fox's 'The Preachers' (via Terez Owens). "I don't know Ayesha Curry. I don't believe in, she's a woman, she's a wife, be quiet and sit at home. I don't believe in that, I feel like she should express her opinion but maybe be smarter about it. Was it rigged when your husband was winning, or just when he was losing?"
Ayesha's tweets have remained a hot topic even nearly a month after the NBA season came to an end.
"I've lost all respect," Ayesha tweeted after Game 6. "Sorry this is absolutely rigged for money ... Or ratings [I'm] not sure which. I won't be silent. Just saw it live sry."
The wife of the two-time and reigning MVP recently opened up about the controversy and offered an apology for the way she handled herself during Game 6.
"I was just a fan in that moment so I didn't think about the ramifications," Ayesha told People earlier this month. "I regret the way that I voiced how hurt I was. I felt hurt for [Steph], and I didn't mean to offend anybody. Obviously, what I wrote is not what I think about what he does for a living."
The Cavaliers continue to haunt the Curry family. Even though Curry took home the ESPY Award for "Best Record-Breaking Performance" for his 402 three-pointers in the regular season, Cleveland took home "Best Team" honors, while LeBron James was named "Best NBA Player."
