NVIDIA SHIELD TV 2017: Built-in Google Voice Search, Powered By NVIDIA Tegra X1, Two USB 3.0 Ports At $200

NVIDIA, the chip manufacturing giant launched its second generation Shield TV at the CES 2017. The new android based TV hub or console enhances power to the Android TV, PC gaming and much more.

NVIDIA claims that the new device Shield TV is a streaming beast featured with capabilities of playing fastest and smoothest 4K HDR videos which provide infinite apps and entertainment support.

According to PC World, it is reported that the internal components of the new Shield TV are similar to its predecessor and NVIDIA is expected to roll-out software update to the original shield to bring in the most of the similar features as in the new Shield TV 2017.

It is also reported that the new Shield TV is seen with considerable reduction in size i.e. nearly 40 percent reduction is seen when compared to its previous make. The controller also got an overhaul with a significant reduction in size and weight after losing its touchpad.

According to NVIDIA, the new Shield TV has Built-in Google Voice Search which makes it easy to get what the user want by only finding the right app, game, or video quickly and with incredible precision. Also, it features movies and television shows pop with complete details.

The device is powered by NVIDIA Tegra X1 which is claimed to be the advanced mobile processor NVIDIA has ever built. This processor enhances highest quality streaming for movies, shows, and games.

NVIDIA Shield TV comes with two USB 3.0 ports which allow connection of external hard disks. The USB port in the new device is the replacements for the microSD and SD card slots of the previous model.

Also, the new controller is designed wonderfully with more traditional, PS4 DualShock controller-style layout. The capacitive buttons and trackpad from the previous model have been replaced and provided with a capacitive volume slider. The remote also comes with IR blaster, allowing a user to control TV or another device directly.

The NVIDIA Shield TV will be available for sale at $200. Also, the Shield Pro has a price tag of $300 and shipping is reported to start by end of January.
