Samung Galaxy S8 Won't Be Seen At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017

It was earlier speculated that Samsung will launch Galaxy S8 flagship at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event. However, this has turned out to be a false rumor as the company's chief Koh Dong-jin denied the launch at MWC 2017.

According to BGR, it is reported that the company's chief ruled out the rumor on the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch at MWC 2017 and there was no specific date mentioned on the same. It is reported that MWC was the traditional platform for Samsung to launch its new flagships and release the launched flagships into the tech market in the month of March.

However, this year, after the confirmation from Samsung's chief, MWC will not witness the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 flagship. It is also reported that Samsung might put a rigorous testing procedure in place to avoid the incident that was seen in Galaxy Note 7.

It is reported that the testing setup involves an 8-point battery safety check that will cover batteries right from component level to their assembly and shipment of devices. One of the procedures also involves conducting X-Ray tests to spot abnormalities inside the batteries. 

According to South Korean site ETNews reports, Samsung Galaxy S8 is speculated to have improvement in the front camera and is expected to introduce autofocus for its selfie lens as well. Also, the report tips that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have an iris recognition feature that was earlier seen in the Galaxy Note 7. This feature will allow users to unlock their Smartphone just by looking at it.

As per GSM Arena, it is reported that Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus measures 152.38x78.51x7.94mm and Samsung Galaxy S8 measures at 140.14x72.20x7.30mm indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus variant is significantly larger than the predecessor Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The dimensions tip screen sizes of 6.3-inch and 5.7-inch for the Galaxy S8 Plus and the Galaxy S8 respectively.

Depending upon the region, the Galaxy S8 could either be powered by an Exynos 8895 chipset paired with Mali-G71 GPU, or Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be backed by a 4,200mAh battery.

Also, the model numbers of the Galaxy S8 has been tipped by the Chinese tipster indicating that the Galaxy S8 will feature model numbers as SM-G9500/SM-G950X, and for the Galaxy S8 Plus, it will be SM-G9550/SM-G955X.
