MWC 2017: What To Expect From HTC, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, LeEco And Huawei

The Mobile World Congress is a combination of the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a conference featuring prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world.

The 2017 MWC event will take place in Barcelona between February 27 and March 2, 2017. Many tech giants have already confirmed their participation in this event. Based on the recent reports, the devices that are expected to arrive in the event are listed below.

HTC: HTC recent launches at the CES event indicates that the company will concentrate on the releases. However, there are speculations that HTC would launch a flagship phone dubbed the HTC 11 at MWC.

Nokia: According to Mirror UK, it is reported that Nokia is all set to reveal its biggest product ever at MWC 2017 - a new tablet with an 18.4-inch screen, powered by Android Nougat - as well as at least one new smartphone.

Samsung: Samsung already made confirmations that it won't be revealing the new flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona.

According to T3, Galaxy Tab S3 leaked on GFX Bench online was seen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core CPU with Adreno 530 graphics and running with a hefty 4GB of RAM. Also, it is reported that Galaxy Tab S3 listed had a 12-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, flash and HDR capabilities plus a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie snapper. 

The storage is listed as 24GB which is likely after taking away the operating system meaning it'll most likely come with a 32GB storage option, Android 7.0 Nougat OS,
microSD slot, USB-C, fast charge, 3.5mm audio and an optional keyboard/cover

Sony: According to Trusted Reviews, Sony was earlier expected to bring two smartphones in MWC, but recent leaks hint that that company will bring five smartphones. However, the smartphones that are leaked are codenamed and official names are not revealed yet.

Sony Xperia Yoshino: The phone sports a 5.5-inch 4K (2160x3840 pixels) display and runs on Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone is believed to be Xperia XZ's successor and is expected to pack 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a Sony IMX400 sensor-based camera.

Sony Xperia BlancBright: Then there's the smaller 5-inch 'BlancBright', which is said to have a WQHD display and expected to feature Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 635 processor on board, as well as 4GB of RAM and an IMX400 image sensor.

Sony Xperia Keyaki: The Xperia 'Keyaki' is expected to have 5.2-inch FHD display, Helio P20 chip, and 4GB of RAM. Also, it is likely to feature 64GB of storage, and two cameras holding 23MP and 16MP lens respectively.

Sony Xperia Hinoki: The 'Hinoki' is a phone with an Helio P20 chipset built by MediaTek. This phone reportedly carries 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and two cameras: 16MP and 8MP.

Sony Xperia Mineo: The Xperia 'Mineo', has no specifications and features leaked. But it is reported that it will cost $350.

LeEco: LeEco X10 spotted on GFXBench website with detailed specification and features are expected to arrive in MWC 2017.

The new LeEco flagship listed with the model name "LeTV LeEco X10 (X85x)" is expected to sport a 5.5-inch QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) display, two dual camera setups for both the Smartphone's front and rear in which the rear dual-camera setup will feature two 12-megapixel sensors with 4K video recording capability while the front dual-camera setup will have two 15-megapixel sensors and 2K video recording.

The phone is likely to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core CPU, Adreno 530; two possible RAM either a 4GB or 6GB and two storage configurations at either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The entry also lists the device as running Android 6.0.1.

Huawei: Various leaks suggest that Huawei P10 is expected to arrive in MWC 2017 and the device is expected to sport a curved screen as seen in the leaked pictures. Also, the leaked images of the phone are seen with the Leica dual-rear camera with dual-LED flash and laser autofocus on the back as in its previous model.

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus smartphones are expected to be powered with by Kirin 960 S0C coupled with 6GB RAM, Amazon's Alexa voice assistant, a support for wireless charging and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat Operating System.
