Michael Jordan Names All-Time Pickup Team; Did LeBron James, Kobe Bryant Make List?

Michael Jordan says give him Scottie Pippen, Hakeem Olajuwon, Magic Johnson and James Worthy and he'll give you basketball immortality in the form of the greatest pickup team of all time.

In conjunction with the release of the PlayStation 4 and the next-generation version of "NBA 2K14," with LeBron James on the cover, Jordan was willing to play the what-if game.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the man widely considered the best hoops player ever to lace up insists those are the four players he would pick to "make sure I hold onto the basketball." The website adds with the exception of Olajuwon the current Charlotte Bobcats owner has a direct history with each of his would-be teammates.

He and Pippen famously led the Chicago Bulls to six titles in eight seasons and a pair of three-peats, while he and Johnson paired in the backcourt on the 1992 "Dream Team" many still consider to be the best pro squad ever assembled.

Worthy was the selection that easily raised the most eyebrows, but Jordan harkened back to his days at North Carolina and the time he and Worthy teamed to bring legendary coach Dean Smith his first NCAA Championship. Worthy went on to earn the nickname "Big Game James" and the status of being named one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all time.
