J.R. Smith News: Have Coach Mike Woodson, New York Knicks Had Enough Of Volatile Star? [VIDEO]

J.R. Smith has already been suspended more games than he has played in for the New York Knicks this season and already coach Mike Woodson has had enough.

"I was not happy about that and that's why we has a behind-the-door meeting... because it's ridiculous," Woodson told CBSSports.com of Smith being fined $25,000 by the NBA earlier this week for threatening Milwaukee guard Brandon Jennings on Twitter. "If he keeps putting himself in these positions, eventually no team is going to want to deal with you."

Smith, who was suspended for the season's first five games for violating the league's drug policy, was apparently warring with Jennings over disparaging comments the Bucks veteran supposedly made about Smith's younger brother and teammate, Chris.

Many have openly speculated the Knicks only chose to keep Chris Smith on the roster this summer as a means of enticing his then free-agent brother to re-up with the team.

"There's got to come a time where you stop putting yourself in that position," Woodson told CBS. "You got to learn from it. Those are the things where I'm trying to get this young man to."

Now, 28, the league's reigning Sixth Man of the Year was previously suspended 10 games in 2006 for his role in an on-court brawl and seven games in 2009 after pleading to a reckless driving infraction. Smith was also docked $25,000 by the league in 2012 after posing what was deemed an inappropriate photograph of a woman on his Twitter account.

The Knicks signed Smith to a three-year, $18 million extension over the summer after he averaged a career-high 18.1 points in 2012-13.
