Today at 2:45 p.m. ET, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli go head-to-head in UEFA Champions League action live from Signal-Iduna Park in Germany. The game can be live streamed here.
Dortmund hosts Napoli today in a make-or-break Champions League encounter in one of their most important matches in recent history. Dortmund has lost three games in a row and enters this game knowing that its entire season could depend on the outcome.
Dortmund is coming into this match off of a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich and a loss could knock them out of the Champions League or serve to ensure that the team won't be able to control its own fate.
"I've told my players they can be depressed for five minutes, but then things move on," said coach Jurgen Klopp, according to ESPN after the latest set-back. "We've got to think about our next game. This is an unusual situation for us. We just need to draw the right conclusions, add a bit of clarity and then we can be confident about Tuesday."
Defensive woes have burned Dortmund and Manuel Friedrich is not registered for competition in the Champions League, leaving Koray Gunter or Oliver Kirch in a big role for Dortmund in a must-win game.
Napoli, meanwhile, must overcome the loss of captain and midfielder Marek Hamsik, who hurt his left foot in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Perma.
"It's unfortunate because he received a knock in the same area where he had been hit before," manager Rafael Benitez said to sscnapoli.it.
Hamsik has joined an injured group of midfielders that includes Juan Zuniga and Giandomenico Mesto on the sidelines.
Dortmund fell to Napoli 2-1 in Naples back in September, and Napoli is looking to continue its dominance today while Dortmund knows that their season may very well hinge on the outcome.
