Kobe Bryant Defends Los Angeles Lakers Extension, Insists Lakers Have Plenty Of Cap Space For Carmelo Anthony [VIDEO]

Kobe Bryant has taken to Twitter to defend the massive, two-year extension he inked with the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this week.

Some have openly questioned Bryant's stated commitment to having the chance to tie Michael Jordan with six NBA titles after the Lakers announced terms of his two-year, $48.5 million deal, which many feel puts the team in a vulnerable position in terms of being able to pursue other top-tier free agents.

"The cap rules players have to be "selfless" on to help BILLIONAIRE owners r the same cap rules the owners LOCKED US out to put in," Bryant tweeted under the hashtag "think." Later Bryant tweeted "don't just know ur sport... learn the sports industry."

Still recuperating from offseason surgery for a torn Achilles heel, the 35-year-old Bryant is expected to soon rejoin the Lakers lineup. After getting by this season with a roster filled with the journeyman likes of Xavier Henry, Chris Kaman, Nick Young, Wesley Johnson and Jordan Farmar, the Lakers are already rumored to be ready to perhaps chase the free-agent likes of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade this off season.

Bryant ended his rant by tweeting "btw, Lakers have max cap space and then some."
