Two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum will face off this coming Sunday in Nashville. The Tennessee Titans continue to lead in the AFC with an impressive 8-2 slate while the Houston Texans are languishing in the bottom of the AFC South standings with a woeful 1-8 record. Can Tennessee cover the spread in this Texans vs Titans clash? Here's a breakdown of this divisional matchup.

Houston Texans installed as +10.5 underdogs

The Houston Texans headed into their bye week in a state of disarray after suffering yet another defeat in Week 9. They now trail the Tennessee Titans by 6.5 games in the AFC South division after a 17-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Houston now owns the longest losing streak in the NFL this season with the Texans currently on an eight-game losing skid.

It won't get any easier for them in Week 11 as Houston will face a Titans team that has won eight of its first 10 games this season and is the owner of the best record in the AFC. It is important for the Texans that Tyrod Taylor plays mistake-free football in this divisional matchup. He struggled mightily against the Dolphins, completing just 24 of 43 passes for 240 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.

Taylor looked rusty in that contest, which was his first start since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2. Many expected Taylor to deliver a solid performance against the Dolphins as he entered that contest with 10 touchdowns and no picks in 167 previous throws against Miami. That failed to materialize as Taylor finished with a woeful 42.8 rating in Week 9.

Tennessee Titans enter Week 11 as -10.5 favorites

Tennessee extended its winning streak to six games with a narrow 23-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 10. It was a critical win for the Titans, who maintained their three-game lead atop the AFC South standings.

Ryan Tannehill starred for the Titans in the Week 10 win, completing 19 of 27 passes for 213 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran for another score late in the first half that gave Tennessee a 13-6 lead at the break.

The Titans managed to extend that advantage to 11 points in the fourth quarter but that was almost wiped out by a late charge by the Saints. Brian Johnson kicked a field goal and Marquez Callaway nabbed a touchdown reception in the closing minutes to trim Tennessee's lead to two points.

Fortunately for the Titans, they were able to thwart the Saints' two-point conversion that could have tied the game at 23-all. It was the Titans' tightest win of the season and also their lowest scoring game in a victory this campaign. The Titans are now 7-0 against 2020 playoff teams this season as they continued to display their title credentials.

The Titans will fancy their chances of extending their winning streak against the Texans as they have fared extremely well against them of late. Tennessee has won each of its last three meetings with Houston dating back to 2019.
