Two AFC East teams will lock horns this coming Sunday at the MetLife Stadium as the New York Jets host the Miami Dolphins in a critical Week 11 clash. Who will prevail in this Dolphins vs Jets showdown? Here's a breakdown of this divisional matchup.

Miami Dolphins installed as -3.5 favorites

The Miami Dolphins extended their winning streak to two games with an impressive 22-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. It was a critical victory for the Dolphins, who kept pace with the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings, trailing them by 3.5 games heading into Week 11.

For the Dolphins to stretch their unbeaten run against the Jets, they will need to continue their excellent play on the defensive end. They were outstanding in the Week 10 win against the Ravens, limiting them to just 10 points after conceding a total of 137 points in their previous three meetings. Baltimore's 10-point showing ended its streak of 51 consecutive games with at least 14 points scored in the regular season.

The Dolphins employed a Cover Zero scheme against the Ravens and it befuddled Lamar Jackson, who threw for just 238 yards with one touchdown and one interception. They will look to incorporate that same defensive strategy against the Jets, a team they defeated 24-0 last season.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Dolphins will start Tua Tagovailoa under center. He impressed as a substitute in his return from a finger injury, throwing for 158 yards in relief of Jacoby Brisset in the win against the Ravens.

Tagovailoa also ran for a one-yard score with 2:19 remaining in the game clock that sealed the famous win for Miami. He will be licking his chops at the prospect of facing a Jets defense that has allowed at least 45 points in three of their last four games.

New York Jets enter Week 11 as +3.5 underdogs

The Mike White experiment has come to a swift end for the New York Jets with head coach Robert Saleh installing veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to be their starter for the Week 11 showdown with the Dolphins.

He has an excellent career record against the Dolphins, winning seven of his eight games against Miami. Flacco's teams scored at least 26 points in each of his seven wins against the Dolphins. The only defeat that Flacco suffered against Miami was in the aforementioned 24-0 loss last season.

Flacco struggled in that contest, completing just 21 of 44 passes for 186 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. The Dolphins swarmed Flacco all game long in that encounter as he was sacked three times. Flacco can expect the same treatment this coming weekend with the Dolphins enjoying huge success lately with their blitz packages.

They have allowed an average of just 9.5 points in their last two games against Houston and Baltimore, both of which ended in wins for Miami. The Dolphins also kept the Bills in check in the first half of their Week 8 clash, holding them to a single field goal.
