Raiders vs Chiefs Week 14 Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Preview: Mahomes Targets 9-4 Start

Kansas City opened up a two-game lead over Las Vegas in the AFC West standings in Week 13 following the Chiefs' win over the Broncos and the Raiders' loss to Washington. The Chiefs will look to extend that advantage even further and deal a massive blow to the Raiders' playoff hopes when they face off this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Here's a breakdown of the Raiders vs Chiefs matchup.

Las Vegas Raiders installed as +9.5 underdogs

The Las Vegas Raiders came crashing back to earth in Week 13, losing 17-15 to the red-hot Washington Football Team. It was a disappointing defeat for the Raiders, who lost four of their last five outings. They are now languishing at the bottom of the AFC West standings with a 6-6 record.

The Raiders will look to return to the win column in Week 14 when they travel to Missouri to face the Kansas City Chiefs. It definitely won't be easy as the Raiders have struggled mightily against the Chiefs of late.

The Raiders have lost seven of their last eight meetings with the Chiefs. Kansas City walloped Las Vegas by 27 points in their first meeting this season in November.

For the Raiders to end their losing skid against the Chiefs, they will need to get a much-improved showing from quarterback Derek Carr. He completed 28 of 38 passes for 249 yards with no touchdowns and interceptions in Washington's loss.

The Raiders' offense has struggled mightily of late, scoring 16 points or fewer in six of their past nine games. Las Vegas lost all of those games, contributing to the slump they are experiencing right now.

The Raiders must convert on their third-down opportunities against the Chiefs. They went just 2-of-8 on third down in the loss to Washington. The Raiders failed to move the chains and find the end zone via the passing game.

Kansas City Chiefs enter Week 14 as -9.5 favorites

Kansas City extended its winning streak to five games with an impressive 22-9 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 13. It was a significant win for the Chiefs, who maintained their one-game lead atop the AFC West standings.

This Sunday, they will look to preserve that advantage when they meet another divisional foe in the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Raiders of late.

They recorded their biggest win of the season against the Raiders in Week 10, defeating them 41-14 on the road at Allegiant Stadium. Patrick Mahomes went berserk in that Sunday Night Football game, throwing for 406 yards and five touchdowns.

Mahomes, though, is the main reason behind the Chiefs' current five-game unbeaten run. During this stretch, Kansas City's defense has been immense, allowing just 56 points combined in the last five games.
