WWE legend John Cena made an appearance during the "2023 Money in the Bank" pay-per-view event held at the O2 Arena in London, speaking in the middle of the ring in front of nearly 19,000 spectators.

The 16-time world champion said there's no more exciting audience than those in the United Kingdom. He then declared that he would try to bring WWE's annual flagship event, "WrestleMania," to London.

Almost all of the 39 editions of the event had been in the United States, except for WrestleMania VI and X8, both held at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. The upcoming WrestleMania XL (40) 2024 will be in Philadelphia at the Lincoln Financial Field.

WWE's London tease could stem from rival promotion AEW holding its "All-In" event at the Wembley Stadium in the same city this August 27.

The event broke AEW's attendance and revenue record, selling 66,500 tickets and generating $8.35 million. It has become the largest paid attendance for a professional wrestling event since WWE's WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

WrestleMania in the UK backed by Parliament

Following Cena's declaration to bring the famed WWE event to the United Kingdom, a group of Members of the Parliament has supported the movement.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group wants to help make Cena's pitch a reality. Alex Davies-Jones, the group's co-chairperson, was excited about the proposition.

"It was utterly incredible and got the whole place buzzing with excitement about the possibilities of what that could mean for wrestling fans, but also for the UK economy and also for future fans as well," the politician said.
