Father knows best?
Many thought Novak Djokovic still has a lot of gas left in his tank after his Wimbledon Finals appearance, although he lost to a very young Carlos Alcaraz.
His father has a different idea, though. The gas in his tank should be spent somewhere else.
Srdjan believes his son should retire by 2024.
"As far as my wishes for him go, he has already fulfilled them all seven-eight years ago. The rest is this amazing bonus," Srdjan said, as seen from Sportal's documentary, "Novak Djokovic - Untold Stories."

"And for Novak to slowly but surely... It's not the end, but in a year-and-a-half, let's say... My wish as a father - I think for some time that he should have stopped working this extremely difficult job."
The father believes Novak has been stepping on the gas for so long, and he should realize that tennis, where he accomplished everything already, is just one part of his life.
"I expect him to be recognized for the things he will do after his career ends as well, after he leaves the tennis world, which I hope it will happen next year," the older Djokovic said.
Djokovic's retirement plans
Djokovic admitted that retirement had crossed his mind, but he thinks he still has goals to fulfill, and he does not want his age to be the ultimate factor in his decision.
"I have asked this question also, but it's not like I think about it all the time," he said two months ago.
"The desire is still there, but things can change quickly - I am 36, I've been a pro for 20 years. I don't like to look at age as a decisive factor, I pay attention to what my general state is like and whether I enjoy it."
For now, he is resting after deciding to skip the Canadian Open.
