Errol Spence Jr immediately posted on X to congratulate Terence Crawford and expressed his desire for a rematch.

X users found his second statement laughable because of how horrendous his defeat was at the hands of Crawford.

Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith is not laughing at Spence. He wants the 33-year-old to retire, a kind of take Smith's career was built on.

The First Take host started his recap of the Terence Crawford-Errol Spence Jr fight by expressing love for the latter.

However, he went a different route, reasoning that what happened to him in the hands of Crawford is something he can go back from. Thus, retirement should be entertained.

"It was a bona fide epic a** whipping that he received, and after that kind of beat down, you've got to wonder whether or not he should consider hanging it up," he said.

Smith thinks Crawford is eyeing another challenger

Spence Jr. said he is open to a rematch with Crawford but only in the 154 lbs weight class.

Smith sees that happening since the winner is willing to go up. However, Smith saw something happen outside the boxing ring. He thought Crawford was challenging Spence's friends, the Charlo twins.

"Okay, they're so tight with Errol Spence that they've made it clear years ago they would never fight one another because that's how close they are as brothers and friends, and so obviously Charlo was rooting for Errol Spence and thinking that Errol Spence was going to beat him, and when he got his butt whipped right in front of Charlo, Terence Crawford was turning to Charlo, like, 'You next. I want you too,'" said Smith.
