NBA Eyes California City to Host 2025 All-Star Weekend — Which Team Is It?

The NBA is closing in on an agreement with the Golden State Warriors to host the 2025 All-Star Weekend festivities at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, according to league insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

The NBA All-Star Weekend was last held in the Bay Area in 2000 when the Warriors hosted it at their previous home in Oakland, then known as The Arena. That year's festivities were best known for Vince Carter's iconic performance in the Slam Dunk Contest during that weekend.

The 2024 NBA All-Star festivities for the upcoming season will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Pacers.

Barring injuries, Warriors star Stephen Curry is expected to play in that year's All-Star game, owing to his status as one of the league's best and most popular players.

Chase Center is the newest NBA arena

The state-of-the-art Chase Center is the league's newest arena, opening in 2019 when the team relocated from Oakland to San Francisco after spending 48 years in the former city.

The arena features the largest scoreboard in the league, adding up to a whopping 9,699 square feet.

Despite its young age, the Chase Arena is already a witness to an NBA championship run back in 2022, where it hosted three games of that year's NBA Finals. However, the Warriors clinched the title at Boston's TD Garden.
