Newcastle United gave their fans at St. James' Park a delightful treat in their first Champions League action at home in over two decades, notching a 4-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
This remarkable achievement wasn't just any win; it was a commanding performance against the reigning French Ligue 1 champions, and they held PSG star Kylian Mbappe scoreless.
The Premier League side opened up a dominant 3-0 lead by the second half with goals coming from winger Miguel Almirón and defender Dan Burn in the 17th and 39th minutes of the first half.
They continued to widen the gap as PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could not stop midfielder Sean Longstaff's powerful angled shot, which found the back of the net in the 50th minute.
Defender Lucas Hernández pulled a goal back for the French club, but Newcastle regained their three-goal lead with a superb strike from center-back Fabian Schär at stoppage time.

Dan Burn, who scored the second goal of the evening and spent time in the club's youth academy before bouncing around English clubs, was on cloud nine after seeing the turn of events unfold for his beloved boyhood club.
"It has not sunk in, I am a bit speechless. It is like dream and I am waiting for someone to wake me up, I am waiting for the bubble to pop," the 31-year-old said.
