It has been a year since tennis great Serena Williams retired from competitive tennis, but that does not mean fans can no longer access her.
The multiple Grand Slam winner announced that she is working on a personal, intimate project that will allow supporters to get to know her more.
Williams, 42, revealed two books about her life on and off the court are in production, and they will contain very personal details of the retired tennis player.
"Over the last year, I've really enjoyed taking the time with my growing family to celebrate my accomplishments and explore my other passions," she said in a statement released by the publishing firm Random House.
"I couldn't be at a more perfect place to be able to take on such a personal intimate project, and there's no one I would rather do it with than the team at Random House."

The American great, second in the number of Grand Slam titles behind Margaret Court, retired last year to focus more on her family.
She married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in 2016, and they welcomed their first daughter, Olympia, a year later. They welcomed their second child, Adira, last August.
What will the books be about?
In the first book, Serena shares her life as a wife and mother. She will provide details on the birth of her children and her rise as a simple child from California.
The second one is an inspirational book, which, according to Random House, will be about the authors' rule of living.
"Williams will offer rules for living that draw on her experiences as a philanthropist and advocate, her career as an investment unicorn with Serena Ventures, and someone who has long sought to lift a diverse and emergent generation of young women whose aspirations are not confined to the court."
