Mike Tyson has canceled a series of promotional tours slated for London after learning he has been banned from entering Britain.

According to ESPN, the former heavyweight champ and once self-professed "baddest man on the planet" has been barred based on a law that prohibits anyone sentenced to more than four years in prison from from entering the country. Tyson once served three years of a six year sentence for the rape of a teenage beauty pageant contestant. He has also been convicted of assault and cocaine possession.

The website reports the 47-year-old lightning-rod was due in London sometime this week to promote his new autobiography "Undisputed Truth." In a statement, his published, Harper Collins U.K., said Tuesday it had been "unaware" of recent changes to U.K. immigration law and for that reason Tyson had to reroute to Paris.

Under Britain's immigration rules, anyone sentenced to more than four years in prison is barred from entering the country.

At 20, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight boxer in history to hold the WBC, WBA and IBF world titles at the same time. He won his first 19 pro fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round.
