Despite recent controversy surrounding the University of Michigan football program, oddsmakers remain confident in the team's ability to win the College Football Playoff National Championship.

According to the BetMGM Sportsbook, the Wolverines are currently positioned as the favorite to win the national championship, boasting odds of +225.

Close on their heels, the Georgia Bulldogs stand as a strong contender with odds of +250, while the Florida State Seminoles remain a notable challenger at +600.

Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes share the same odds of +700, solidifying their positions as formidable teams in the race for the championship title.

Michigan football initially passed Georgia as the consensus betting favorites to win the national title just over two weeks ago.

The Wolverines are currently maintaining an undefeated record this season, standing at 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the Big Ten Conference.

The current favorites in the odds are embroiled in a sign-stealing controversy, and there is the possibility that head coach Jim Harbaugh may face a suspension as a result.

Michigan football quarterback also favorite to win Heisman Trophy

The Wolverines' junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy is also the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at +180, according to DrafKings Sportsbook.
