Aaron Rodgers joins Pat McAfee once again this Tuesday to give his update on his injury and thoughts on the past NFL week. Him, McAfee and the crew host a playful episode with a decent amount of information sprinkled in.
Right away, Rodgers praises his teammate and position filler, Zach Wilson, on his performance against the Houston Texans in the rain. Aaron says that "he was in a good rhythm" and the play caller, Nathaniel Hackett, put Zach in good situations with the pass game.
Aaron Rodgers does not set a return date, but he does say he is "improving." Even after the provoking from former Green Bay Packer teammate A.J. Hawk, Rodgers still declines to commit to a date; if there is one this season. With the New York Jets season on life support, the Jets must upset Miami in order to keep both Rodgers' return and playoff hopes alive.
This might end up being a good time to play Miami as they were shaken up a bit after their Monday Night showdown against the Tennessee Titans. Miami lost the game, but even more importantly, they lost their starting center Connor Williams for the season due to an ACL tear. Adding more to the Dolphins injury problems, superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill was also banged up, as he left the game for a bit with what seemed to be an ankle injury.
Rodgers also sings praises to New York Giants quarterback Tommy Devito and his replacement in Green Bay, Jordan Love. He reiterates his trust in Packers quarterback Love even after an up and down performance. Aaron Rodgers still calls for fans and analysts to be patient; not to "crown" these quarterbacks just yet. Let them play out their careers and save them from expectations put on them too early.
Rodgers weighs in on other quarterback injuries. He finds "nothing in particular" causing all these injuries. He does find some of the injuries to be "strange," like Bengals quarterback and Chargers quarterback both suffering odd hand injuries. Rodgers expects the NFL to investigate them; but Aaron didn't sound too confident in the fact that the NFL will do anything major promoting change.
Lastly, Rodgers talks of the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills officiating. The 4-time MVP agrees with the call made by the referees and urges players to work more with the refs. Certain rules like offsides can be more strict as long as there is a warning and ultimately more consistency with calls.
