Paul Pierce 6th Man: 'Truth' Embracing Role Of Brooklyn Nets Bench Scorer? [VIDEO]

Fresh off his 10-for-12 shooting, 27-point explosion against Washington earlier this week, veteran Brooklyn forward Paul Pierce tells ESPN he's ready to embrace his new sixth man role on a regular basis.

"We haven't talked yet," Nets coach Jason Kidd told ESPN of the prospect of making the Pierce switch a permanent move. "But, we like where Paul's at right now."

After a dreadful start to the season, the Nets finally seem to be hitting their stride with point guard Deron Williams back in the lineup and Pierce looking as comfortable as he has in a Nets uniform since coming over from Boston during the offseason.

The Hall of Fame bound forward is averaging 16 points over the last four games and insists coming off the bench for the first time in his career has not been an issue for him.

"I am just starting to get things going after the start to the season," Pierce told ESPN. "My hand is feeling good, my groin is feeling good, understanding the system and understanding my spots -- that is about it. I mean, I don't really care. I have adjusted. I have been a starter my whole career and I am making an adjustment as a player coming off the bench. You just have to watch the game, help the guys on the sideline, you get a chance to see and understand what is going on out there...it is definitely a mental adjustment ."
