LeBron James and his back-to-back champion Miami Heat are in unfamiliar territory after dropping their third straight game Wednesday night, a 114-97 loss to the Washington Wizards.
The three-game losing streak marks the first of the James, Dwyane Wayne, Chris Bosh era in Miami, and apparently desperate times are facilitating desperate actions.
Earlier in the day, the Heat announced they had dealt veteran center Joel Anthony to Boston as part of a three-team trade where the team landed guard Toney Douglas and Grantland.com reports it was all done in the name of bringing engnimatic center Andrew Bynum to South Beach.
Bynum remains a free agent after recently being dealt from Cleveland to Chicago and instantly being cut by the Bulls. After signing a lucrative two-year deal with the Cavs over the summer, Bynum averaged just 8.4 points and five rebounds , but everyone agrees it was his attitude that most made him unserviceable.
The Heat officially welcomed center Greg Oden to the team on Wednesday, with the oft-injured playing in his first regular-season game and giving the squad some much needed size, especially with Chris Anderson still sidelined and Anthony now in Boston.
Still, the champs remain intrigued by the prospect of Bynum, who indeed has proven---when he is engaged--- he can be a force to be reckoned with.
Given all the drama, James perhaps best summed things up, telling ESPN "we love adversity more than anything. We're definitely at that point."
