Ed Reed robbed of $50,000, Houston police investigating [VIDEO]

Houston police are investigating the theft of $50,000 in cash from NFL veteran Ed Reed.

According to Click2Houston.com, someone smashed out a window in Reed's vehicle and stole a bag holding the cash. Reed reportedly had just taken the money from a nearby bank and it was stolen when he made another stop not far from the facility. Police say they believe he was followed from the bank.

Reed, 35, spent most of last season playing for the Texans before being released in November. He spent the rest of the season playing for the New York Jets. Overall, Reed has played 13 NFL seasons and has 64 career interceptions.

Reed played his first 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and his best season came in 2008 when he had nine interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns. Reed teamed with Ray Lewis in his final NFL season in 2012 to lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl. Reed recorded four interceptions and a touchdown that season.

Police said they have no suspects in the theft and are still investigating, including viewing area surveillance video.
