Former NFL Pro Bowler Nnamdi Asomugha is starting to feel overwhelmed by Hollywood actress wife Kerry Washington's success and their short-lived marriage is now on the rocks, according to ShowbizSpy.com.
The website reports Asomugha recently left his pregnant wife alone on her 37th birthday to party non-stop during Super Bowl weekend in New York City.
"It's an extremely difficult time for Kerry right now," an insider told ShowbizSpy of the Scandal series star. "She was incredibly embarrassed when Nnamdi flew off to the Super Bowl instead of sharing a romantic night to celebrate her birthday."
The source later added "she's fears that he's proving to be an unreliable husband, and she's even more concerned about what kind of father he'll make."
The 32-year-old Asomugha and Washington were married in a secret Idaho wedding last summer. Shortly thereafter, Asomugha was cut by the San Francisco 49ers at the same time his wife was rumored to be netting somewhere in the neighborhood of $80,000 an episode.
"They are definitely growing apart," the source added to ShowBizSpy. "What should be the happiest time in Kerry's life has become a marital minefield."
Asomugha has played nine NFL seasons and is a three-time Pro Bowler.
