The countdown to Battleground continues as the WWE presents Monday Night RAW live this week from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

After Re-Signing, Dolph Ziggler Wants To End His Career In WWE

The WWE has already announced the main event as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins teams up with Kane against his former Shield stablemates Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in tag action.

Superstars advertised for tonight include those four along with NXT Champion Kevin Owens, United States Champion John Cena, Mr. Money in the Bank Sheamus, the recently re-signed Dolph Ziggler and Big Show.

The Bella Twins Dish On WWE Dropping Their Feud With Each Other

The tag team main event has many factors going for it as Rollins and The Authority have reunited, The Architect is preparing for his bout with Brock Lesnar on July 19 and Reigns will have to look over his shoulder for Bray Wyatt, who continues to play mind games with him heading into Battleground.

The WWE is also sure to continue the Intercontinental Championship feud between title-holder Ryback and his two challengers for Battleground, The Big Show and The Miz.

Regarding Sheamus, he's still carrying around the Money in the Bank briefcase and is always a threat. His rumored Battleground opponent Randy Orton is likely to be absent again due to him being on vacation in Bora Bora with his girlfriend.

One of the key storylines heading into this week's flagship show is between Cena and Owens as the two will surely continue their war of words and actions with their United States Championship bout looming just less than three weeks away.

The WWE has also teased a romantic link between Rusev and Summer Rae after last week's interesting developments, which will likely factor in to the storyline with Ziggler and Lana.

The Showoff may lose again tonight as the WWE has begun to hint at the Ravishing Russian being bad luck for him.

Elsewhere, things are heating up in the tag division as the Prime Time Players continue to prep for their first major title defense against The New Day in three weeks in St. Louis.

Over in the Divas division, Nikki Bella has continued her historic run on top of the division as her reign reaches 218 days this week. She is still awaiting a challenger for Battleground.

With Battleground taking place in just 20 days from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on July 19, there could be more matches added to the card as well.

It should be a jam-packed edition of Monday Night RAW live this week from the nation's capital.
