UFC fighter Conor "The Notorious One" McGregor appeared in the initial court hearing of his arrest on Thursday at the Kings County Supreme Courthouse in Brooklyn.
The 29-year-old McGregor, who got involved in a bizarre bus incident earlier this April, told the media that he is deeply sorry for his actions. His lawyers are currently working with the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office for a plea deal that will see the Irishman serve no jail time.

"I regret my actions that led to today. I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful this will get worked out," McGregor said.
While McGregor became the fourth highest paid athlete following his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. he has yet to appear in a single UFC match since the incident. "The Notorious One" was also stripped off his 155-pound championship belt after failing to defend his title in nearly two years.
McGregor is currently up against two misdemeanor assault charges and one felony criminal mischief allegation. Overall, the fighter from Dublin, Ireland is facing 12 charges and could suffer at least seven years of jail time.
"The Notorious One" was also joined by fellow fighter and co-defendant Cian Cowley. McGregor and Cowley are currently free on bail. Cowley is coming off an impressive knockout win over Daniel Olejniczak on Saturday at Brave 13 in Belfast.
McGregor was present at Cowley's bout and two flew together on a private jet for the scheduled hearing. On the other hand, Judge Raymond Rodriguez, who is presiding the case, ordered both cage warriors to return to the court on July 26.
Meeting With UFC President
McGregor and Dana White, UFC president, are expected to meet this Monday to discuss the former's future with the company. The meeting is set in Las Vegas, according to sources close to the situation.
The 155-pound cage fighter last fought in the UFC against Eddie Alvarez. He defeated Alvarez via knockout to be recognized as the first two-division world champion of the company.
Even though his return to the Octagon is still uncertain, it is expected that McGregor will fight current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov beat Al Iaquinta at UFC 223 in Brooklyn last April to pocket the lightweight belt.
At present, McGregor holds an impressive MMA record of 21 wins and three losses. His UFC slate currently stands at nine victories and one defeat. Since turning professional in 2008, the former amateur boxer has already 18 wins by knockouts and 13 first-round finishes.
