The Formula One racing roster is now locked in for 2021. Several surprises dazzled the fans, along, of course, with some disappointments.
Here is the complete line-up for the Formula One 2021 season.
Who goes where in F1
- Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso (Alpine, formerly Renault)
Fernando Alonso returned to the world of F1 after joining Renault. His presence will be felt together with Esteban Ocon.
The two-time champion has hinted at a comeback at Renault. Cyril Abitetoul knew that Alonso's return would spark a strong run in the tourneys, but it is still up to his drivers whether the team can notch another title after a decade. Renault will run as Alpine F1 Team starting this year.
- Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo)
It is confirmed that Giovinazzi and Raikkonen will continue to sprint with Alfa Romeo. The two drivers are now in their third year as teammates.
Alfa expects that Raikkonen will re-sign for another year, but Giovinazzi's journey is still doubtful.
- Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri)
AlphaTauri team confirmed that Pierre Gasly would resume his adventure with the team for 2021. Yuki Tsunoda, who is from F2, will join Gasly after Daniil Kvyat departed.
Tsunoda's masterful third-place finish in Sakhir put him in the top spots of F1. He is the first Japanese racer in Formula One since Kamui Kobayashi six years ago. His three wins in F2 suit him to race in a more competitive environment.
Gasly's Italian Grand Prix victory took him to popularity in motorsports. Kvyat left the team after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to take a break from F1.
- Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin, formerly Racing Point)
Aston Martin looks good with a new name as Sebastian Vettel becomes the forerunner for the team.
The four-time champion replaced Sergio Perez, who already found his home with the Red Bull.
Alongside Vettel, Lance Stroll will stride under Aston. The father-and-son connection of Lance Stroll and Lawrence Stroll will hope for a great run this season.

- Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin (Haas)
Michael Schumacher's son Mick Schumacher will join Haas with Ferrari as Russian Nikita Mazepin will secure his campaign with Haas. The rookie pairing looks promising with F2 champion Mick, who has many tricks on his sleeves.
The F2 drivers replaced Romain Grosjean, who survived a gruesome accident in Bahrain, and Kevin Magnussen, who raced on his last F1 in Abu Dhabi.
- Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
Carlos Sainz replaced Sebastian Vettel and is expected to be Ferrari's number two racer. Sainz's impressive finish with McLaren last year proved that he should not be underestimated.
In Charles Leclerc's second year, he ousted his teammate Vettel in the driver's championship. He signed with Ferrari in a five-year deal until 2024.
- Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes)
Lewis Hamilton did not know if he will still stay here next year after his contract remained unsigned. However, Hamilton's Istanbul Grand Prix success favored him to stay longer with Mercedes.
Valtteri Bottas has also agreed to a one-year deal extension with Mercedes in August.
- Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris (McLaren)
The departure of Carlos Sainz opened portals for Ricciardo and Norris to settle with McLaren.
Ricciardo had a change of heart now, as he recalled how he chose Renault over McLaren. Norris will participate in the McLaren ride as Ricciardo's teammate.
The 21-year-old Norris is now on his third F1 season. His first two years were striking headstarts for the young racer.
- Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
What else can the fans look for? Will the surprise signing of Perez take Red Bull to a home run?
Verstappen, for his part, was in the rumor mill with Mercedes, but he broke the news after agreeing to a three-year extension with Red Bull.
Red Bull went to a lot of replacements last season. It cost them Pierre Gasly to leave the team after Alex Albion took over his position.
The arrival of Perez shared the same happening. Albion was immediately dropped to reserves, and Perez is assigned to lead the Red Bull.
- George Russell and Nicholas Latifi (Williams)
Russel hits his third year with the Williams, which is also his last year with the team. Nicholas Latifi will be the second driver for the Williams.
Russel and Latifi might be going anywhere for 2022, but if they can surpass the management's expectations, this would be enough for them to leave with a resounding legacy.
