LeBron James Considering Retirement

In the post-game interview, James said that he has a lot to think about moving forward with the game of basketball. He also didn't want to label the season as a success because he only competes for championships at this stage of his career, as per a clip posted by ClutchPoints.

League sources told Bleacher Report and TNT that the all-time leading scorer in NBA history is not sure about returning to the Lakers for the 2023-24 NBA season. He is weighing his options at the moment.

James has two years remaining on his contract worth $97 million in salary, but the last year is a player option.

If the King decides to hang it up, he ends a magnificent 20-year career as a four-time NBA champion, four-time NBA Finals MVP, four-time NBA MVP, and the all-time leading scorer in regular season and playoff competition.

James defied expectations in Game 4, dropping a near triple-double with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists in what could be his final game. He became the oldest player to score 40 points in a playoff game.

The 38-year-old set Crypto.com Arena on fire during the first half, scoring a career-high for a playoff half with 31 points on 11-of-13 shooting and 4-of-4 from long range.

Despite his magnificent game, he failed to convert two game-tying baskets in the final minute of the game, handing Denver the win.
