Inter Miami has added another decorated player to their roster, hoping to climb up from their dismal standing in the current MLS season, where they are currently last in the Eastern Conference.
The Fort Lauderdale-based club has officially announced the signing of defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets through a free transfer in a video posted on their social media accounts.
The clip featured quotes describing the midfield maestro from different personalities before his nickname "Busi" was revealed. Details of the contract weren't released, but previous reports stated that he would remain in Miami until 2025.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the signing shortly after the video was posted. Busquets rejected offers from Saudi Arabian clubs to experience playing in the United States.
The 34-year-old will wear a different shirt for the first time in his senior career, having worn the Blaugrana striped shirt of Barcelona for the past 18 years.

Sergio Busquets: Lionel Messi's Most Prolific Teammate
Busquets will be reunited with his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, who confirmed he was joining Inter Miami earlier this month.
Busquets is the most prolific teammate of Messi's storied career. The Spanish defensive midfielder is the player who played the most games and minutes with the Argentine forward, all with Barcelona.
The duo played 566 games and spent nearly 700 hours on the pitch together, and the tally will be increased once they finally don their pink Inter Miami kits for the first time.
