Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET, the Toronto Maple Leafs (34-23-8, 76 points) and Anaheim Ducks (43-14-7, 93 points) hit the ice at the Honda Center for the second and final meeting against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Toronto fans can hear all of the action on TSN 1050 while Anaheim fans can do the same on KLAA 830.
Toronto embarks on a five-game road trip while holding on to the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference while Anaheim owns the best record in the NHL but has only won three times in regulation since the start of February. The first time these two teams met, the Maple Leafs defeated the Ducks 4-2 on Oct. 22 in Toronto.
The Ducks are looking to bounce back from a tough shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
"I thought we played pretty well," forward Kyle Palmieri said, according to NHL.com. "There were a couple opportunities we had that might've been able to put the game away. [Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller] played a great game. When he was tested, he came up big for us. Overall, it was a good test for us, but falling in a shootout is disappointing."
Hiller is the probable starter for the Ducks tonight and is 26-9-6 with a 2.28 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage while Jonathan Bernier will likely man the crease for Toronto and is 24-16-7 with a 2.63 GAA and a .925 save percentage.
The Maple Leafs are coming off of a 4-3 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday where the team blew two different leads.
"It feels good," Joffrey Lupul, who scored the game-winning goal, told NHL.com afterward. "We don't want to make a habit of blowing third-period leads. Things are going to happen, other teams are going to make plays and we stuck with it."
Phil Kessel has led Toronto with 70 points off of 33 goals and 37 assists while James van Riemsdyk has 26 markers and 26 helpers for 52 points and Nazem Kadri has lit the lamp twice in his last two games for a total of 17 goals with 27 assists for 44 points.
Ryan Getzlaf paces Anaheim with 70 points off of 29 goals and 41 assists while Corey Perry is 4-1-5 in his last three games for a total of 65 points off of 34 tallies and 31 helpers and Nick Bonino has found the twine 16 times and added 25 assists for 41 points.
