Azzi Fudd's first days with the Dallas Wings have already included a moment she will not forget anytime soon—just not on the basketball court.
Instead, the 23-year-old rookie was honored inside the team locker room with a playful and heartfelt graduation ceremony celebrating her newly earned master's degree from UConn.
On Wednesday, the Wings turned the locker room into a staged celebration as Fudd walked in wearing a cap and gown. One by one, teammates lined up to greet her, shaking her hand as if she were crossing a formal graduation stage.

According to ESP, Veteran forward Alysha Clark led the ceremony, standing at the center to present Fudd with a diploma and a lighthearted title that quickly caught attention online.
"Congratulations on ... your degree master princess," Clark said, nodding to Fudd's well-known "The People's Princess" nickname. Fudd laughed as she accepted the honor and replied, "Thank you. This is the best grad gift ever."
The celebration didn't stop there. Clark also adjusted the tassel on Fudd's pink cap, moving it from right to left in classic graduation fashion, before handing her a bottle of tequila as a team gift. Fudd was also given a mock certificate labeled as a "Certificate of Completion," adding to the fun tone of the moment.
Wings Honor Azzi Fudd's Academic and Rookie Start
The viral locker room ceremony came just days after Fudd officially completed her master of Business Administration degree at UConn, following her bachelor's degree in communication earned in 2024. She had maintained a strong academic record throughout college, finishing with a 3.57 GPA and earning several academic honors, including Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
While her professional basketball journey has just begun, Fudd's start with Dallas has been closely watched. She made her WNBA debut with 3 points in 18 minutes during a narrow 107-104 win over the Indiana Fever, Newsweek reported.
However, she missed the team's next game due to reported knee swelling, a concern for a player who has dealt with knee injuries in the past.
