Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET, the Toronto Maple Leafs (35-24-8, 78 points) and Los Angeles Kings (38-22-6, 82 points) faceoff live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the second and final meeting against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Toronto fans can hear all of the action on TSN 1050 while Los Angeles fans can do the same on KLAA 830.
Toronto finishes a three-game swing through California while Los Angeles has won eight games in a row. The first time these two teams met, the Kings defeated the Maple Leafs 3-1 on Dec. 11 in Toronto.
Kings coach Daryl Sutter believes sending his players to the Olympics was a good thing and helped them stay sharp after the break.
"I think all our guys came back ... really sharp," Sutter told the media Wednesday via NHL.com. "Anze Kopitar for sure; he was really proud of going and really proud of how he played and proud of his country [Slovenia]. It doesn't matter with those kids that went. It doesn't matter if they all medaled or not. If you get to do that is what's most important. As much as they represented their country, they represented us."
Kopitar (20-35-55) leads the Kings in points while Jeff Carter (24-19-43) and Mike Richards (9-30-39) are next in line.
The Maple Leafs will look to bounce back from a rough 6-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks last time out.
"You have to flush it," captain Dion Phaneuf said after the game via NHL.com "There's no point pouting about it. We're going into a building of a team that is playing very good right now."
The Leafs have been paced by Phil Kessel (34-39-73), James van Riemsdyk (26-28-54) and Nazem Kadri (17-27-44) thus far this season.
Ex-King Jonathan Bernier will likely suit up for Toronto, and is 25-16-7 with a 2.59 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage while Jonathan Quick is probable to man the crease for Los Angeles and is 21-13-2 with a 2.02 GAA and a .917 save percentage.
The Maple Leafs and Kings hit the ice against each other for the final time this season when the lights come up tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
