Dynamo Kiev midfielder Oleh Husev was knocked unconscious Saturday when he collided with the goalkeeper’s knee. But not only was he out cold, his tongue seemed to have blocked his airway. Opposing player Jaba Kankava was nearby, and luckily for Husev, he was feeling heroic. What Kankava did next is stuff of legend.
“He [Husev] sustained medium concussion, several bruises and a bruised jaw,” the Dynamo team doctor Leonid Myronov said, according to The Guardian. “He is lucky to have such light injuries. His spine, skull and bones are all intact – no breaks or fractures.”
