NFL Draft Team Preview: Eagles hoping for safeties to fall? Can Chip Kelly, Philadelphia build defense to rival offense? [VIDEO]

Here at Sports World News we will count down each NFL teams’ 2014 draft needs and perfect fits. At the end of every team we will make a pick on who the team could take at their position. The Eagles were another team that snuck up on the NFL, but new offensive guru has shown that the Eagles can get better and he can make the tough decisions.

2013 Review: The Eagles looked to reinvent offense when they finally persuaded Chip Kelly away from Oregon, and after one year the experiment has been a success. A NFC East title and one of the top offenses in the league will do that for a team. Nick Foles came on late and showed he can be the teams franchise quarterback and had an incredible year. Can he keep it up in 2014 is one of the questions on the back burner. The Eagles do have to fix the secondary and fill some holes, but they are the favorite in the east once again.

Needs:
Wide Receiver:
DeSean Jackson and Jason Avant are gone and Jeremy Maclin is on a one year deal. Riley Cooper is the only receiver on the roster under contact passed 2014 and who knows if he can repeat 2013. Chip Kelly can wait until the 2nd or 3rd round to get a receiver due to how deep the draft is

Cornerback: The whole secondary needs to be improved in Philly. Nolan Carrol is a decent improvement, but any corner the Eagles bring in from the 1st round would be the best corner on the roster. Carrol makes the corner position not as dire as safety

Safety: The Eagles need a safety more than any other position in the draft and they could benefit from two. The only way they should pass on a safety is if the two first round safeties are already off the board. If they choose to pass on either of them that will tell you all you need to know about the safety class.

Targets: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
 Marqise Lee, WR, USC
 Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
 Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State

Best First Round Fit: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
A hard hitting safety that would bring toughness and anger to a otherwise docile secondary is Pryor. He is surging up draft boards and some teams are rumored to have him over Clinton-Dix. The change in opinion is part workouts and part draft fatigue considering Clinton-Dix has been the top safety for so long. The Eagles would love for either safety to fall to them, but Pryor is a better fit for them.
