WWE rumors [VIDEO]: Daniel Bryan to miss time until Extreme Rules 2014 to deal with father's death and sell Kane injuries?

Daniel Bryan performed on Monday night's episode of RAW despite the fact that he received news of his father passing away. Following an attack by Kane on the show, it is being reported that Bryan may miss some time all the way up until Extreme Rules to sell the injury and mourn the loss of his father.

Updated Extreme Rules 2014 card and rumors

It was announced on Monday Night RAW at the opening of the show that Kane will face Bryan in a singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules on May 4 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Stephanie McMahon made the announcement in the opening segment, and Kane then came out and attacked Bryan while also using steel steps and the announce table as weapons. The WWE announced later on the show that his storyline injury was "a stinger" that he suffered at the hands of Kane.

Bill Goldberg open to a return to the WWE

The WWE said in storyline that Bryan was sent to the hospital but has no serious injuries, and the current plan calls for the company to hold him out of action until Extreme Rules in less than two weeks, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com.

It's unknown if that means he just won't be wrestling or that he won't be appearing at all on next week's shows. Bryan was missing from last week's television tapings due to being on his honeymoon with Brie Bella, and now that his father has passed away he may be given next week's tapings off to sell the injuries and be with his family, but it remains to be seen if that's what the company meant by time off.

Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by beating Randy Orton and Batista at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 and married Bella the following week in a monumental time in his life.

Bryan was reportedly made aware of his father's passing after he and Bella returned from their honeymoon. There is no update as to what the cause of death was, however it appeared to be sudden.

WWE.com released the news that Bryan's family had told him of his father's passing, but that he insisted on performing at RAW on Monday in Baltimore.

"WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan's (Bryan Danielson's) father has unexpectedly passed away," the WWE's website said. "Bryan was made aware of his father's passing after returning from his honeymoon with Brie Bella. Despite the news, Bryan has insisted on performing for the WWE Universe tonight (April 21) and will be on Raw. WWE extends our deepest condolences to Bryan and his family."

Nikki Bella, sister of Brie, took to Twitter to share her condolences publicly for Bryan and speak about his father.

"I'm very sad & proud of my brother in law @WWEDanielBryan His Father was a kind, generous, sweet man and was so very humble. If you met him you knew the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Bryan definitely has his energy. Tonight he stood there not only for all of you, but for the memory of his father. He will always be remember. RIP Bud"

While it's unknown if Bryan will appear on RAW or take the week off, he'll likely have some extra motivation when he hits the ring at Extreme Rules to battle Kane.
