Real Madrid Transfer News: Paul Pogba Extending With Juventus The 'Best Thing For His Career?' [VIDEO]

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The 21-year-old French international boasts a sought-after talent, one that would cost any European club a fortune to afford. Madrid were reportedly (via Football Espana) prepared to offer Fabio Coentrao, Angel Di Maria and Alvaro Morata in exchange for his services.

Javier 'Chicharito' Will 'Bring A Lot of Goals' to Real Madrid?

That, however, is a pipe dream according to Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta.

The club has no intentions of letting the young phenom slip away (h/t to Sky Sports). "We intend to extend Pogba's contract and we have already spoken with his agent. Paul is a smart guy and this is the perfect place for him to improve further. You cannot imagine him leaving Juventus," Marotta said.

Juventus director Pavel Nedved added: "We would like to keep Pogba for as long as possible. The best thing for his career is to remain at Juventus. Paul must think of his growth as a player, not of the money, and I have said this to [his agent Mino] Raiola."

In 31 league appearances this season, Pogba is averaging 2.4 tackles and 2.1 dribbles per match, consistently displaying the totality of his game, but is remaining with Juventus really the best thing for his career?

A move to Madrid would allow Pogba to develop under Xabi Alonso—widely considered one of the premier central midfielders in the world of football—and push the inconsistencies of Asier Illarramendi further down the bench. Playing time in the Santiago Bernabeu wouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle for the Frenchman.

That added wages Madrid would offer only raise the temptations of a transfer to the Spanish capital. Will it, however, be one Pogba succumb to, or will he sign an extension to remain in Turin? Tell us @SportsWN
