Tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET, the New York Mets (19-21) and Washington Nationals (21-19) take the field at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. for the opening game of a three-game set. The game can be live steamed for free here. New York fans can hear all of the action on WOR 710 while Washington fans can do the same on 106.7 The Fan.

New York is coming off of a 2-2 Subway Series home-and-home split with their intercity rival New York Yankees and start a short three-game road swing to D.C. while Washington kicks off a six-game homestand after going 2-4 on a six-game road trip against the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels.

Southpaw Jonathan Niese (2-2, 2.17 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Mets while right-hander Tanner Roark (2-1, 3.65 ERA) mans the mound for the Nationals.

Niese has shrugged off a shoulder issue and has been a solid presence in the Mets rotation thus far this season.

"I feel good," Niese told MLB.com. "I really don't care where my wins and losses are -- just as long as the team's winning, that's fine with me. I've been feeling good. I want to get my innings in and I want them to be quality."

Roark is coming off of a start where he limited the A's to one run on 7 2/3 innings.

"When you get that rhythm and that tempo going and you don't have to shake anything off, that's perfect." Roark said after the outing while discussing being on the same page with Nats catcher Wilson Ramos.

Washington is dealing with a rash of injuries as outfielder Bryce Harper and third baseman Ryan Zimmerman are both out with thumb ailments while first baseman Adam LaRoche (quad) is also sidelined.

New York has injuries in their own right as catcher Travis d'Arnaud was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list after getting hit in the head with a swinging bat during the Subway Series.

Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy is in the lead among qualifiers on the team with a .317 average while he's tied for fourth in the NL in hits with 51 and outfielder Eric Young Jr. is second in the MLB with 15 stolen bases.

Infielder Danny Espinosa is hitting just .228, but he leads the Nationals with six homers while second baseman Anthony Rendon is hitting .282 with five homers and leads the team with 24 RBIs.

The Mets and Nationals take the field at Nationals Park for the first game of a three-game set tonight in Washington, D.C.
