Chivas Guadalajara Transfer News: Angel Reyna Transferring To Chivas No Later Than Friday, Cruz Azul An Option?

It looks as if Chivas Guadalajara have finally landed their man. After rumored interest in Toluca midfielder and Mexico national team player Isaac Brizuela—not to mention the failed pursuits of Santos Laguna's Oribe "El Cepillo" Peralta—club supporters will finally have a tangible signing to celebrate.

Isaac Brizuela and Carlos Esquivel Transfer Targets For Chivas Guadalajara?

Per Fox Deportes (via reporter Ruben Rodriguez), 29-year-old Angel Reyna could sign with the club no later than Friday. Nothing has been agreed upon, but Reyna has listed his preferred locations, with Guadalajara being ahead of Toluca and Cruz Azul.

The former Club America midfielder spoke with the club earlier in the week and voiced his desire to join the club.

Cruz Azul Not Exercising $8 Million Option On Marco Fabian?

For Guadalajara, Reyna's signing would immediately bolster an impotent attack that only managed to score 13 goals in the 2014 Clausura tournament. In 10 appearances with Veracruz last season, the former Mexican international created 14 chances, more than any midfielder currently listed on Chivas' roster. Enamored with his potential signing, Guadalajara Director of Operations Rafael Puente voiced high praise for his talents (h/t to Medio Tiempo). "When he's on, I have no doubts that he's one of the three best footballers in Mexico," Puente said.

"He's great going forward, has the finishing touch and has the vision to provide the final pass," he added.

"His problem is he concentrates on other things, but if he's focused on his potential and concentrates on playing football, I have no doubts that he's one of the best in the country."

Reyna will need to live up to Puente's expectations if Chivas Guadalajara are to return to relevancy and avoid relegation in 2014, but will he be enough for the club to do so? Tell us @SportsWN
