The overhauling of Mexican football continued on Thursday, with Tigres UANL joining the fray. The club transfer listed club captain Lucas Lobos, ending a successful tenure that saw one Liga MX and Copa MX title in six years.

Not satisfied with his impending departure, Lobos fired back (per Fox Deportes' Ruben Rodriguez). "If it was due to performance, we should all leave," said a perturbed Lobos.

Despite lifting the 2014 Copa MX title, Tigres failed to qualify for the 2014 Clausura Liguilla, finishing two points behind the eventual champion Leon. Lobos made 16 appearances for the club this season, finishing without a goal, but creating 31 chances while completing 82 percent of his passes. No other Tigres player approached his creative genius according to the Opta Sports data officially licensed by Squawka.

At 32 years old, Lobos must now find a new a club to ply his trade.

Just don't expect that club to be Chivas Guadalajara.

The Goats are desperately seeking ways to improve their roster, and there's no denying a quality, creative talent like Lobos would certainly bolster their squad. He doesn't, however, quite fit the criteria. Once considered a foreigner from Argentina, the former Gimnasia midfielder became a naturalized Mexican citizen in 2013. That's not exactly the "Chivas" way.

At the time, Lobos' citizenship sparked the rumors of his potential inclusion in the Mexican national team, something he hadn't considered (per Goal). "I'm not thinking of getting citizenship to play [for El Tri]," he said.

"So, I can't say it is a topic that people should talk about."

What people will be talking about a year later are the potential landing spots for this still consistent attacker, but where should Lobos transfer to in the summer window? Tell us @SportsWN
