Oklahoma City Thunder Rumors: Scott Brooks on Hot Seat? Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook Defend Coach [VIDEO]

The Oklahoma City Thunder were sent home prematurely at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs, and head coach Scott Brooks could be sent packing.

Brooks spoke about his job status and how he doesn't listen to his critics. The very successful Thunder coach referenced a person every important to him when asked if he believes he will be back with Oklahoma City.

"I've had a lot of valuable lessons from my mother, and she's always told me this: 'You do your job every day and live with the results,' " he said. "They say you can't worry about what 'they' say. You never even meet those people.

I always focus on what I do and try and do it to the best ability I can. I'm not looking from nobody other than doing my job and living with the results. I love what I do, and I love the team I'm with. I know I have to get better and I know the team has to get better.”

Brooks has had vast success with the Thunder and was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2010. The Thunder have had five straight playoff appearances and have appeared in the Western Conference Finals three of the last four seasons. The Thunder have the young talent and foundation to do some damage for the foreseeable future, but they could continue on without Brooks.

In light of the whispers that Brooks is on the hot seat, both Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have come to his defense and said he should return. Stranger things have happened in the NBA and as the Spurs get one year older, the Thunder could be the next team in line to dominate the Western Conference.
